Our Story
From Corporate Healthcare to Community Wellness
Sonya Bennett spent close to two decades working in corporate healthcare construction before choosing a different path. She wanted to work directly with people in her own community, using hands-on therapeutic care to help them move better and live fuller lives. That vision became Vitality Bodywork. Sonya holds a NASM Personal Trainer certification and is certified in Integrative Pelvic Floor Therapy, Stretch Therapy, and Lomi Lomi Hawaiian Massage. Her background bridges the gap between passive relaxation and active, fitness-based recovery in a way that sets Vitality Bodywork apart from other massage therapy options near Bainbridge Island.

Got Questions?
Frequently Asked Questions About Vitality Bodywork
How is Vitality Bodywork different from a regular day spa?
Vitality Bodywork is a recovery-focused, professional bodywork studio, not a luxury spa. Every service is built around functional outcomes like reducing chronic pain, improving mobility, and supporting postpartum recovery. Founder Sonya Bennett holds a NASM Personal Trainer certification and is trained in Integrative Pelvic Floor Therapy, which means sessions are informed by an understanding of how the body moves and heals. The goal is to help you move better and stay active, not simply to provide temporary relaxation. This therapeutic approach is what distinguishes Vitality Bodywork from standard massage options near Bainbridge Island.Does Vitality Bodywork accept insurance or VA benefits?
Yes. Vitality Bodywork is a VA Preferred Provider and is currently in-network with Aetna. This means veterans accessing care through the VA Community Care network and Aetna members may be able to use their covered benefits for therapeutic massage and bodywork services. These credentials reflect the studio's commitment to making quality, professional care accessible to everyday people in the Bainbridge Island community. If you are unsure about your coverage, we recommend contacting your insurance provider or the VA directly to confirm your eligibility before booking. When is it safe to start postpartum massage after giving birth?
For the Postpartum Mama Bliss Therapy at Vitality Bodywork, we recommend waiting 4 to 6 weeks after delivery before beginning sessions. This waiting period allows your body to start its natural healing process before we introduce abdominal and uterine massage or pelvic floor and SI joint balancing. If you had a cesarean delivery or experienced complications, please consult your physician before booking. The 5-pack Perfect Postpartum Series is a great way to commit to a full recovery plan and saves $100 compared to booking individual sessions.Do I need a doctor's approval before booking a prenatal massage?
Our Mother's Belly Bliss Prenatal Massage is designed to be safe and nurturing for expecting moms, but a physician's approval may be required prior to beginning treatment, particularly for the 5-pack Healthy Prenatal Series. We always prioritize the safety of both mother and baby. If you have a high-risk pregnancy or any medical concerns, please speak with your healthcare provider before scheduling. Once you have clearance, our practitioners will work with you to ease pregnancy discomfort, reduce anxiety, and support better sleep throughout your pregnancy. Is the studio accessible for people with limited mobility?
Yes. Our studio on Bainbridge Island is fully ADA accessible, making it easy for adults 65 and older and anyone with physical accessibility needs to receive care in a comfortable, welcoming environment. This is especially important for clients booking the Baby Boomer Special, which is a targeted therapy focused on improving mobility, muscle tone, and long-term independence. Accessibility is a core part of our mission to serve bodies of all ages and fitness levels in the Bainbridge Island community. What does a Work Everything Massage session involve?
The Work Everything Massage is our signature customized full-body session. Our practitioners assess your unique tension patterns and combine Western and Eastern techniques, which may include Swedish massage, deep tissue work, hot stones, or cupping, to target stubborn, tight areas and relieve chronic pain. It is well suited for active people dealing with restricted movement, muscle tension, or recurring soreness. A single 30-minute session is available at $75, or you can join a monthly membership for a 60-minute session at $135 or a 90-minute session at $202 per month. What is Rebozo Relaxation Massage and how does it support pregnancy or postpartum recovery?
Rebozo is a traditional technique that uses a woven fabric to gently rock and support the body, promoting comfort, easing tension, and encouraging balance. At Vitality Bodywork, Rebozo Relaxation Massage is offered as part of our maternal care services for both expecting and postpartum clients. It is a gentle, culturally rooted approach that complements our prenatal and postpartum therapy offerings. If you are looking for a nurturing, non-invasive way to support your body during pregnancy or recovery, Rebozo is a meaningful option to discuss with your practitioner. Can I add enhancements like CBD or facial cupping to my session?
Yes. Vitality Bodywork offers several add-on enhancements that can be incorporated into your session. The CBD Massage Enhancement uses Vital Body CBD products to help soothe sore muscles and deepen recovery. Facial Cupping is available to promote circulation and reduce facial tension. Monthly members receive the CBD Massage Enhancement free of charge as part of their membership benefit. Your practitioner can help you decide which combination of services and enhancements best supports your personal recovery goals during your visit to our Bainbridge Island studio.
