What You Need to Know Before You Book
  • What makes Vitality Bodywork different from a typical day spa?

Vitality Bodywork is a recovery-focused therapeutic practice, not a luxury spa. The goal is to help everyday people move better, reduce chronic pain, and stay engaged in the activities they love. Owner Sonya Bennett holds an NASM Personal Trainer certification alongside credentials in Integrative Pelvic Floor Therapy, Stretch Therapy, and Lomi Lomi Hawaiian Massage. Practitioner Amanda W. adds over 20 years of hands-on expertise. Every session is customized to your body's specific needs, combining Western and Eastern techniques to deliver results that matter, whether that is improved mobility, faster recovery, or relief from stubborn, tight areas.
  • Does Vitality Bodywork accept insurance or veteran benefits?

Yes. Vitality Bodywork is a VA Preferred Provider and is currently in-network with Aetna. Qualifying veterans and Aetna members can access therapeutic bodywork using their covered benefits, which removes a significant financial barrier to consistent care. If you are unsure whether your plan covers our services, we recommend contacting your insurance provider directly before booking. We believe therapeutic care should be accessible to the community on Bainbridge Island, WA, and our insurance partnerships reflect that commitment.
  • How soon after giving birth can I start postpartum massage?

We ask that clients wait 4 to 6 weeks after delivery before beginning the Postpartum Mama Bliss Therapy series. This window allows your body to begin its natural healing process before we introduce abdominal and uterine massage or pelvic floor and SI joint balancing. Starting too soon can interfere with recovery, so this guideline is in place to protect your health and ensure the best possible outcomes. If you had a cesarean delivery or any delivery complications, please check with your physician before scheduling your first postpartum session.
  • Do I need a doctor's approval before booking a prenatal massage?

Our prenatal massage services are designed to be safe and nurturing for expecting moms, helping to ease pregnancy discomfort, reduce anxiety, and improve sleep. That said, physician approval may be required before beginning the Healthy Prenatal Series, particularly if you have a high-risk pregnancy or specific medical concerns. We always prioritize the safety of both mother and baby. If you are unsure, a quick conversation with your OB or midwife before booking is a good step. We are happy to work alongside your care team to support a comfortable pregnancy.
  • Is the studio accessible for people with limited mobility or physical disabilities?

Yes. Our studio on Bainbridge Island, WA is fully ADA accessible, so clients with mobility limitations, physical disabilities, or age-related movement challenges can visit comfortably. This is especially relevant for guests booking our Baby Boomer Special, which is specifically designed for adults 65 and older. We built our space to serve bodies of all ages and fitness levels, and accessibility is a core part of that commitment. If you have specific needs or questions about navigating the studio, please reach out before your appointment and we will make sure everything is ready for you.
  • What should I know about the Work Everything Massage before my first session?

The Work Everything Massage is our signature customized full-body session. Your practitioner will assess your unique tension patterns and combine techniques such as Swedish massage, deep tissue work, hot stones, or cupping to target stuck tissues and chronic pain. Sessions are available in 30-minute increments or as part of a monthly membership at 60 or 90 minutes. To prepare, arrive well-hydrated, avoid heavy meals in the hour before your session, and come ready to communicate openly about areas of discomfort. The more your practitioner knows about how you move and where you hurt, the more effective your session will be.
  • What are the membership options and what do members receive?

Vitality Bodywork offers monthly memberships built around the Work Everything Massage. The 60-minute membership is $135 per month and the 90-minute membership is $202 per month. Members receive a 10 percent discount and free Vital Body CBD add-ons with each session. CBD massage enhancement helps soothe sore muscles and complements the therapeutic work of your session. Memberships are managed through the MassageBook platform, which also handles scheduling and gift certificates. If you want to make bodywork a consistent part of your wellness routine, a membership is the most cost-effective way to do that.
  • What is the Rebozo Relaxation Massage and who is it best suited for?

The Rebozo Relaxation Massage uses traditional Rebozo fabric techniques to promote comfort, ease tension, and encourage physical balance. It is well suited for expecting moms and those in early postpartum recovery who are looking for a gentle, grounding experience. The Rebozo is a long woven cloth used in a rocking and wrapping method that many clients find deeply calming. It can be incorporated as part of a broader maternal care plan alongside prenatal or postpartum services. If you are curious whether it is right for your stage of pregnancy or recovery, just ask when you reach out to book.
